oh man...when i was at work today this guy came into my line and he was wearing a white tam, and i asked if he had dreadlocks and he's like yeah, so he showed them too me...and they were beautiful. very long blondish white boy dreadlocks. he said he'd been growing them for five years. then i showed him mine and he's like yeah, mine were like that at first, but you just have to keep at it. aww man he was such a fox...
he bought paper napkins by the way.
just thought i'd share that..
i miss my dreadies
i just looked through all my pix on my computer, and i REALLY miss them!!! i have had so many hair styles my dreads really ment something to me, i want them back..i want to make something from them, but i think thats kinda weird and i dont know what i would make
I'm currently working on a drawing series of people who have dreadlocks.. and I have seen on the "About" part of this community: "Dreadlocks, it may come as a surprise, originated in India. They were worn by mystics who rejected materialism and sought higher spiritual understandings."
Where can I find more information about this specific idea? I am not doubting it, I just want more backup text to use when I finish my series for the showing.
im doing dreds soon (after my senior pics are taken) and i was wondering what advice u all have for a newbie to them. also if there is anyone from nh that wants to help me that would be awesome!!!!
ooh, i felt so happy yesterday. i saw my friend's stepdad who's from trinidad and he called me a rasta and gave me a high five. it was fun
