I'm new hear, and I have dreads for 2 months or so. Is it just me, or that dreads dyed black look really,really,um...wierd ;)? Why is that?
And another question:
I want to dye my dreads, and I need to bleach 'em. How? and How do I apply the dye after the bleach?!
Anything out there that makes hair grow?
Yeah .. I'm a little bitch, but I've had my dreads for a year and they've only grown a few inches (about three). I also want to dreads the bottom half of my hair, and it .. just won't grow since I've decided I want to. Maybe my hair hates me ..
well i did it. i sat n dreded my entire head. and now my mom is taking away everything because i did it. no more comp, shes trying to take my phone and car also. its fucking rediculous. she made me last night right after i did them take a shower. and now shes telling me to take em out. but its not so simple. n it looked so good last night (luckily i did take pics) so now its a wreck. fuckin sucks
I've been in this community a hell of a long time. I comment only to compliment someones dreads or give advice that I have learned through experience.
But the reason I am making this entry is because of a recent entr I replied too......I love dreads and especially mine. If they are anyone out there that doesn't like my opinion or advice please block me because I'd rather not waste my time on trying to help if your not going to listen or start an argument because you think I'm wrong. WHY would I tell you something if it was wrong!?@? I mean any person with common sense will tell you that if you have lived with dreads you become them. I'm not saying I know everything about them but I sure in the hell know more than some in this community give or take one or 2 of the older dread heads. So if you want advice then listen to it.....you don't have to take it.....and if your not the one asking for advice........don't bitch about others who give it. I'm not a person you want to get mad.....and I hate to have to prove that to you .....
but other then that have a happy dread day and come see me again!
hey hey. hows everyone doin?
just a little dread story, kind of.
for the past few days i have kind of had the urge to brugh my dreadies out. you know how somedays they can make you frusterated?(loose hairs and whatnot)
well today i was working at brighter daze, and this african american lady came in. and was like "so you are growing dreads. how old are they?" (etc etc). then she said "they are really coming along great for being so new!" and that just made my day. i thought they looked like shit. nice to have a compliment from her, since she had amazing dreads.
but, i learned something cool from her, which is the point of this post, not to brag about my dreads which really arent the best : ) she told me to never ever cut of my dreads if i wanted to get rid of them...she said in jamaica you would be shunned for cutting off your dreads. the whole point of having dreads for teh rastafarians is to NEVER cut them off(amoung other things). so she told me to tell all my dready friends if you get sick of your dreads, think of teh real reason you got them and why you love them...and what they mean to some people. and if you still want to get rid of them, brush them out, dont cut them.
thought i'd share : )
peace and good vibes
