I had a dreadful [scary. scaryscaryscary.]experience today.
I was walking out of a bathroom in my school today, when a group of 5-10 supertall scary looking boys crowded around me. I thought that they were waiting for another girl in the bathroom, so I moved to get around them. All of them moved to block my way. I was like "Okay, 'scuse me." And they moved again. And they started yelling at me about my hair.
"WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU WASHED YOUR HAIR?!"
"THOSE AREN'T REAL DREADS, THEN!"
"Uh. Yeah they are. Why wouldn't they be?"
"YOU CAN'T WASH REAL DREADS!"
"You're obviously very misinformed. I can and have and will wash these. So can and so have and so will other people with dreadlocks."
"THOSE AREN'T REAL! THEY'RE FAKE!"
"Who would know, me or you? I'm the one with them, and they're dreadlocks. They're attached to my scalp."
"NO THEY'RE NOT! THOSE AREN'T REAL!"
They were literally screaming in my face. They were all touching my hair and grabbing at it and pulling at it and it scared the crap out of me. I jumped through them and busted out my Matrix moves on them. More like walked down the hallway with them 2 feet behind me yelling at me, but still. My head felt molested. Seriously. I didn't invite them to touch me. I wouldn't have minded if they were being friendly about it and not screaming at me. But they were, so I did.
I am wondering, has anybody else had an experience like this? How did you deal with it? I'd like to know, because they caught me all off guard [coming out of a girls restroom. At the time I was worrying about if I had zipped my pants up or not, not if I was going to get accosted.] and I don't want that to happen again.
