Also I had a question about washing. For a very long time I have just been putting my hair up most of the time when I shower, but then once a week or so I will give it a good rinse out, no soap. Then yesterday I used a bar of natural soap that I had to wash it a bit, because I was curious. I don't really see a whole lot of difference in the look or feel or smell of the hair, so I wondered if it was really even necessary. Do any of you just use water to wash out your hair, or do you all use some kind of soap/shampoo?
hi everyone. i need some advice, let me know what you think. i've been wanting to dread my hair for forever. the only thing that has stopped me is that i might have to cut it off one day. but, now it's gotten to the point where i think i want to, kinda because my hair is really tangly naturally. if i don't brush it very carefully at least a couple of times a day it will kinda dread itself at places. this starts after like two days! and i'm not the high maintenance kind of girl, so brushing my hair all the time is just boring, and if i don't i have to spend hours untangling it. maybe my hair is trying to tell me something? ;) anyway, the problem is that i have bangs. how do i fit that into the whole dreading project? is it even possible? should i let it grow out before i start the dreading or what? any suggestions are welcome!
I think this is a great community. It brings many people from all walks of life together through a common interest.
And just to get a view of the diversity of this community Id like to ask everyone to leave a comment with a little about themselves. What kind of music do you listen to? What are your interests? etc. Just anything that you think Id like to hear about you, which is pretty much anything.
I'll start with a little about myself. My name is Bill, I live in Daphne, AL. I am half choctaw and my roots are important to me in many different ways. My favorite genre of music is Jam and my favorite band is String Cheese Incident. I hate labels but if I had to label myself, I would call myself a Hippie, dreadie etc., whatever you'd like to call it. I am engulfed in the Jam band festival/concert scene, I hope to go on tour with Phish or String cheese sometime in the next couple of years.
Your input in my little cultural study is muchly appreciated.
