Dreadness!! woo <333333

Well, this is my first time posting in this community, luvin evry1s funky dreads. Mine are 7 months old and i adore them! I would put up a pic, but my rich text doesn't work at the mo :( I do however have a question. I recently bleached my dreads (and they went bright yellow) then i dyed them back brown the next day and my dreads are really damaged at the tips. Would cutting them at the tip, just below where the dread stops damage them at all... i don't see why it would, but i wouldn wanna damage my babies!!

i like to dress up my dreadies as wack as possible, sometimes. :) i like how they peek through and blend in with everything else.

dying dreads

I read the post in the memories section to get a good idea of how to dye my dreads. thing is, even before I had dreads, I never colored my hair (except for once, which was a disaster).. this is all new to me. so I have questions.

my main question so far is about the kind of dye. are there any recommendations that anyone has? I know next to nothing about it, but I know I don't want to bleach my hair. my hair is brown, and what I would ideally like to go for is to be able to dye my hair reddish and let it fade out on its own. is this even possible, or is whatever I do going to be permanent?

with that said, I also don't want to use temporary dyes like manic panic. the one time I did dye my hair turned out to be a nightmare. is there something in between temporary and permanent? like something that will stay in for awhile but not forever?

and all my question are coming at you with my dreads in mind.. they are my first priority in this. so if anyone has any brand recommendations that work well with dreads, I would really appreciate it. :)

one last question: my dreads are soft now. when I dye them, is this going to change?

sorry if I sound dumb. this whole hair-coloring thing is new to me. any advice would help me.

and thanks in advance! :D
