This is the only picture that i can post right now.  I have more
but we can not get the scanner to work so i had to take a picture of
this picture which makes me sad becasue i spent a lot of time printing
this so that i could post it.  I also have more and i will post
them as soon as i can get to a scanner that works.  But this is my
first self portrait so i hope you enjoy it as much as my boyfriend

If you guys are like me, you like to pretty-up your dreads. :)

So, I was walking through a discount store yesterday looking for cheap stuff, cause that's just fun to do. Heh. I came across the "health and beauty" section, and I found some hair ..toys, I guess you could call them. I always wanted one of those little hair braider things, that does it for you. They had them there, really cheap. I kept looking, and I found this little Igea wrap maker. It was only $4.99, they usually sell them for $20 or more on TV. I thought to myself, "What are the chances of this working?" But hell, for $5, I was willing to try. So, I got it home and tried it out. It actually worked! Well! I'm oddly suprised, but I love it now! It worked on one of my medium sized dreads. It comes with three colors of yarn, beads, fasteners, batteries, plus a hair threader. You just thread your hair through the middle of the little machine along with the yarn, turn it on, and move it down your hair (dread). I love this thing! Plus you can refill the spools with whatever yarn, string, or floss that you want, and it can do wraps in 1 to 3 colors. Here's a picture of my first wrap, I didn't do it so tight, but it can make the wraps as tight or loose as you want. This is a nifty little device. Woo!

I finally dreaded my hair. I got Sarah to section it off and then I backcombed it all by myself. Took forever. I didn't put any wax in it and I don't plan to. Just salt water. Hope for pictures tonight!

A Halloween Pic [04 Nov 2004|04:04pm]
It's been more than a while since I've frightened you all with a photo of myself, so here's one from halloween. I'm the guy with the dredlocks and the moustache (as opposed to the girl in the toga with short hair). Unfortunetly, I was wearing a black shirt so you have to look closely to see my dreds, but they do go down past the table that's in the way. It's not a great pic of me, but it will have to do.

Are you sure you want to see this?Collapse )

ps: I'm really not that tall.

AHHH [04 Nov 2004|04:38pm]

AHHHH My dreads are out of control. I have so many loose hairs and they look yucky. I tried the crochet needle thing.. and I couldn't really get the hang of it because the needle kept snagging on my roots and making things worse. Helllllllp.

I am being a post-whore [04 Nov 2004|11:14pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Ok so as some of you might have noticed i decided to keep my dreadies. But i have a few problems with them. I have about four of them in the back that are dreading together and i dont want to have a huge dread in the back of my head becasue i really dont have that many in the first place. So i was wondering what i could do beside ripping them apart, that hurts way to much. I also have a few in the front that are going together but i dont care as much about those ones becasue they are little so if they go together it will just end up the size of the rest of them, but i kinda like the little ones. Also i have really big (and i mean huge) loopies that i am not to fond of. Is there anything that i can do to fix them, i am really willing to do anything except cut the loopies. I like my dreads and i was thinking about taking out the ones that are having problems and then re-doing them, but i really dont want to lose the time that i have already put in to them by starting over. Thanks in advance for the comments!
