Just wanted to let Miranda, and anyone else who cares know that I'm still alive.... amazingly... and I have pics! Taken mere minutes ago... IN THE BATHROOM! And I'm bored tonight so hit me up on AIM (roverboyfda), it's a rare occassion and I'm online. Also I have new dreads growing in, the excitement never ends!

well ive had my dreads for about 6 months now. I just want to say ive learned one thing. sometimes you just have to let things be. the more you work on them to get things the way you want the worse it gets. ive done lots to my dreads. ive croshed(SP?) them, waxed, wraped, tied a key to one. left dirty, cleaned 3 times a week.slept with them up, slept with them down sprayed down with saltwatter, pour lemon juice in my hand and then palmrolled. put beads in,taken beads out. and you know what? never really seemed to help or hurt. yet now I stop to look at my dreads and go hey i think they look awsome. even if they are thin. I only have 13 because of the fact that my hair is really thin and they are really thick, and my head is little on its own. so yeah to all....let it be don't worry and wake up one day and go wow! pics are included.

messy, messy

I took some photos of me and my hair the other day while being bored out of my mind at one of my part time seasonal jobs.
I sell (well, sold- the gardens are closed now) tickets for some gardens that no one knows about, so as you can imagine, Im left with lots of time to take photos.
Luckily the digital camera we've bought is amazing.
I took these hoping to get pictures of how the dreads are for real. I generally leave them up, but I was wearing them down this day- and ended up with these photos.
I look waaaaay more like a boy than Ive ever looked in my entire life, but Im so in love with this boy-side of me that Ive never seen.
(note: I ended up only posting one boy-like photo, the first one)
Anyway, dreadlocks :)
again, they're probably about 8 months old now.
excuse the messy hair by the way.

again, I finally put rubber bands in the tips last month, and Im so happy I did! Not we just need to tidy them up with one of those hooky things.

my dread!...

for two months i only was rinsing my dreads and spraying them down with lemon juice...

past two weeks ive been washing them with knotty boy shampoo and im guessing there tightening up so there getting massivly loopy which im ok with... but after the second wash... my front dread that has a half wrap (to fix massive loose hairs) has come undone, you can see through it!

i dont know what to do except wrap the whole thing, which takes too much time during finals... any quick repair questions or comments on why it just fell apart?!

-thanks to all

just wanted to say hi! We're approaching four months now. Bumpy loopy and messy!!!! I've been wearing them up in a ponytail for work for pretty much the whole 3 1/2 months, and i'm noticing that the spot in each dread where they're in the elastic isn't knotting up at all, so just a warning to anyone else who does that! i'm trying to put them up more loosely for work now, until that all gets evened out. other than that... the roots are insane where they've grown out - zig zag style.

oh and i was getting some itchy dandruff, so i went and bought neutrogena t-gel shampoo. not the original formula, i got the "stubborn itch control" variety, with menthol. it felt soo good on my scalp, all.... minty cool!
