this i was not expecting...

just got back from midnight mass with my family, they're very religious and although i'm not i always go to church at christmas. anyway, considering i live in a relatively small town where the christian community is pretty conservative, i was pretty fucking amazed when the dean stopped me as we were leaving
and said he loved my hair! he actually used the word "fabulous"!!!
so yeah, happy christmas everyone!!!

it is funny, no?

silly lil christmas dread story-

i was opening gifts, and i look into a bag. there is a little container that had a label on the top saying something about "good for light to medium brown hair; red." seeing this, i auotmatically assumed that it was some type of conditioner. "how dare my mother try and persuade me on christmas to get rid of my dreads!" i thought to myself. i lifted the container, only to realize that it was dread wax. my mommy got me dread wax! i just thoguht it was the sweetest thing.

i am questioning if i will use it though, for i have heard bad things. plus my roots are dark brown.

what do you all think?

ps-pictures soon, beacause i got me a NEW digital camera!

every christmas eve my family has a little get together and exchanges silly little presents..

my aunt and uncle do not like my hair...
they gave me a hair brush thinking they were funny.

i didn't know whether to be insulted or to laugh it off.
i laughed it off, even if i was a bit insulted.

my parents have no problem with my hair; i don't understand why extended family feels the need to interfere.

"Sarah! Where's the dreads? Not a rasta sista anymore?"

"I combed them out."

"I needed a change, but I plan on getting them again really soon. Why do you care?"

"Well, next time you have them, call me so we can plan out how to kill the white men. *grin*"

Merry Christmas Sarah! You get to be totured by your family. =]

Anyway, Merry Christmas dreadheads!<3
Peace, Love&then some!

and she chose a yard to burn, but the ground remembers her.

i just stumbled accross this community and i'm really excited just because i don't really know many people at all who have dreads. it was really helpful going through old posts and reading a lot of people's advice.

let's seeeee... my name's sarah, i live in portland, maine. (yeah and it's freezing here right now) i'm 16, and my dreads are about two months old.  they're kind of a mess but i love them anyways.
