Hair washing night. Oh how my hair loves it. I used the Dr. Bronner's for the first time- nice peppermint smell :)
My husband's a bit upset with my right now for demanding he stop playing video games so that we could go to bed- and then turning around and taking 10 additional minutes to post pictures. Ah, well- I hope it's worth the dog house Ive put myself into!

not nudie to the camera's eye, but Im not wearing a shirt in these first few. Just in case anyones offended by shoulders and 'suggestive' curves.

hello sunflower

hey, i stumbled upon all of you, completely by accident, and i just so happen to have a multitude of questions.

for a few years now, ive been considering dreading my hair, but havent had the patience to let it grow out long enough to do so. [its in clumps of one inch patches and three inch patches, due to my handiwork with razors]
id like it to be pretty long when i finally commit myself, though i have considered sewing lengths of human hair to the ends of short dreadies.

my main concern though is the fineness of my hair, [whether its strong enough to withstand dreads, especially when wet] and the overall thinness. i dont have very much, due to my being duped in the gene pool.

so to get to my point.
would it be okay if i dreaded such thin, fine hair? im not interested in attaching huge clumps of extensions to bulk it up, so would it look okay? im most concerned about my poor babies ripping out and forever being doomed to short haircuts.

Also, i suggest that EVERYONE do this because it's sooo much fun. Attach a tiny bell to your dreadies. :)
this is a kinda bad picture of mine but it's on the end of the hemp wrap.also i've had my hemp wrap in since november and it's doing fine. (I asked back then how long was ok to leave a wrap in...)
So yes put a bell on your dreadies, then you jingle all the time and either annoy the heck out of people, or make them smile. Espically when you forget you're playing with the bell in public. :$

RuPaul looking lovely

A rant about this community, hair and my general crankiness.

This is a community about a hairstyle. We are encouraged to debate, share photos, ask questions and interact with other people based on their feelings about this hairstyle. It is nice to meet and chat other people who have similar interests. This is the reason we don't allow posters to disable comments. If you disable comments, you're basically saying, "What I have to say is important but you aren't allowed to give your input". Which defeats the purpose of joining this community. You are posting your thoughts on a public forum and you can not be upset when people disagree. Especially if you are writing just to be argumentative. Different view points are fine but hostility isn't.

I think it's time for a little clarity.

It's a fucking hairstyle.

That is all.

i went to the Down to Earth in my town to find out if they carried Dr. Bronner's soap, and they did! so today starts the long wait for my hair to tangle itself in...itself.

so in celebration (and inspiration from diseased_ovary's post), i want to see everyone's natural locks! (natural meaning not backcombed or waxed or whatever...not that backcombing is know what i mean.)

♥, amelia.
