Aloe question

While at the health food store yesterday I thought I should pick up some aloe for my dreads 'cause I wanted to try it see how it worked vs the lemon juice I have perviously used.
I bought a bottle of Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gel made with 100% organic aloe leaves. www.lilyofthedesert.com
So my question is this, its ingredients are 100% organic aloe leaves, less then 1% citric acid(oxidation inhibitor) and potassium sorbate(mold inhibitor). Should I still use it on my dreads? I would think so but most of the others that recommend aloe for your hair use it straight outta the plant. I just wanted your opinions before I use it.
Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Hot Damn

OK, so I just received the hat lishd sold me today.

IT WAS FAR BETTER THAN I EVER IMAGINED. Taking it out of the package I thought, "Oh Lish, come on. There's no damn way this itty bitty hat is going to fit over my big head o' dreads!" Just so you all know, I have a hard time wearing hats because my head (even without dreads) isn't standard hat size. However, I'd seen the pic Lish had posted, I knew better...

Not only did the hat fit, but my dreads swept up into it PERFECTLY. This is the BEST dread accessory I have ever owned. It's ideal for people who aren't good with hair and need something classy right away.

So, positive feedback to you, Lish, and for 4 reasons. 1. This hat rules 2. It's perfect for dread wearers 3. It's clean and was as described and 4. You've told us about this hat site repeatedly.

Do you have any hats left? :D THANK YOU!!

Pix forthcoming!

I've heard good things about using conditioner from a friend of mine (I'm under the impression to helps dry them out a little. And that's a big plus, because my hair is gross n' greasey) The thing is, his dreads are five years old, and mine are only a year old. And I just got my tips to not look like ass.

Would it be dreadlock seppuku to use some fake Paul Mitchelle (I think that's the name.) ..tea tree oil shampoo?
