hello all.. [26 Apr 2005|01:42pm]
I used to be a member of this community a while ago.. with a different username, but I had decided to leave after things tended to find some drama. As of now.. the community looks highly kosher once again.. and so I'm back.. My dreadies are now two years old.. I hope you like them! :-)

Dreads like whoa...Collapse )

Bleach question please help! [26 Apr 2005|04:04pm]
[ mood | cold ]

I really want to bleach a few of my dreads but i am kind of scared to. I read the post about bleaching but i want to ask the question again just in case there are any new "this is what happened to me" stories. So if you can give me any information about bleaching a few dreads that would be amazing. here are a few questions that i would love to have answered along with stories about what has and hasnt worked for you.
What kind of bleach do i use, does it have to be special or can it be stuff that i can by at Wal-Mart?
How long do i let it sit on the dread?
What happens if it does turn yellow?
How do i apply it and if i only want it on a few dreads should i use a shower cap or something to keep the unwanted dreads from getting bleach on them?
Should i wash my hair first?
Should my hair be wet?
I think that covers all the questions that i have to ask.
thanks in advance!

Hi folks!
JUst joined a while ago and thought i should bless all u with a picture of my splendid dreads! Im not big headed honestly, but a few days ago i got a bit down and lost all faith in my dreads cus the dye had faded and i had turned ginger which i wasnt too pleased about. But we've since picked ourselves up and are stronger than ever! Im sorry for not believing in you fine dreads! Keep on growin'!

[ mood | dirty ]

I am new to this community.. I'm seventeen years old and I have rocked my locks knotty for a good ten months now.

So I have a question.. Has anyone made their own head bands to keep their hair out of their face? Or has anybody heard of making a headband by recycling their old t-shirts? If so, can someone shine some light on how to do it.. That would be very righteous. Thanks

Beeswax [26 Apr 2005|10:32pm]
Is the solid stuff better, or the stuff in a pot thats soft?

I've bought both, but don't want to make a sorry mess of myself!
