DIY conditioner [01 Jun 2005|06:54am]
i'm not at the point where my locks are dry, but i figured I'd ask now.
for those of you who don't use any knotty boy products, what do you use to keep your dreads soft and conditioned?

okay, my dreads are separated in the back (right/left) because i sleep on them there.
and i don't like it! there's little hair covering the back of my head compared to the rest.
anyone know what to do so i can have some dreadies fall in the back?

So yesterday I got my first "insult". From someone who was brave enough to stick their head out of a moving car and yell "FUCKIN' HIPPY!". I laughed considering I went home in my car blasting The Damned from my CD player to get ready for a metal show. Then I thought to myself, how would I respond if someone said it to my face? So what do you guys do when you have to deal with stereotypical jerks?

I'm off to dread one of my friend's hair tonight, I've never done this before so this could be fun. I'm quite excited though, I've been wanting to do this for years, hehe.

She looks a lot like smeardlipstick so I'm sure they'll look good... I'll hopefully have some before and after photos later this evening!

So fuck, is it easy to get your dreads to mold?? I have a phobia, and I'm not sure I want to do this if they're going to freak me out...
Thankies, I desperately wanted to get dreadies this summer, when my hair is a little longer.

Oh another question, is there a definite length that you need for dreads? My hair is growing out from a buzz from last year. I don't know if I'll have long enough hair. Wahhh.

i have some new found friends [01 Jun 2005|09:13pm]
[ mood | ew. ]

so, the other day, my friend was working on my dreads a little pre-rugby game when she found a little chunk of mold in one. grossed out she ripped it out and i forgot about my little buddy.

but then today i found more... i think.
but my hair smells really wonky and off, so i get the feeling that theres more than hair in my hair.
any one ever encountered this problem??

at least they looked nice at prom?Collapse )

any stories/advice/help/pogs would be much appreciated!
[i dont want to lose my babies to mold! haha]

1 month and 6 days [01 Jun 2005|10:41pm]
i was desperate to see what the back of my head looks like, so i got out my handy webcam (managed to break my mirror whilst playing guitar... long story *sigh*). thought whilst i had my camera out, might as well post some pics as a belated one month birthday. :)

PS no need to remind me about the elastics on the end - i'd just tied up the tips so i could wash them. they're usually not on there.

[ mood | tired ]

playing around the other day.....

had them all up straight above my head,
and i pulled the hair elastic to the tips,
then pushed it back down in the middle....
