Three years old? I think? [25 Jul 2005|10:47am]
Heeeeey. I just got back from an interesting vacation to Hawaii and felt like posting up some pictures because it had been awhile. However I haven't gone through organizing my pictures so no real Hawaii ones....yet. I did love seeing all of the dreadlocked people out there and the conversations that were had. I even had the chance to educate a section of this beach we were at because this lady kept asking me questions and before I knew it there were about 8 people feeling 'em up.

title or description

This is the only pic of me I have from the afore mentioned vacation right now. It's crappy quality because it was taken with a phone and my little brother is trying to jump in. Anywho that's from when we went snorkeling and that ocean water felt beyond wonderful in my hair.

Four more that my girlfriend took of me...Collapse )
In other dread related news I met up with cocorollo and dreaded her hair. Yeah I think that took a combined 19 hours over two days to finish her up. That's with both me and the girlfriend brushing...that girl had long hair and wanted them thick.

I'm still in the process of converting sarar (ze girlfriend) over into dreadlocks. I see her everyday and I'm lazy so it's taking awhile for me to complete it, probably about halfway done. I'll try and find some pictures to throw up here too...or she can do it herself because I'm a lazy bastard.

Best Dread Jewelry? [25 Jul 2005|01:37pm]
What type of jewelry is best for dreads?
Is beads created from Fimo clay suitable and safe? What about wraps? Wooden beads?
I'm worried that certain jewelry could stain the hair, adhire to it, trap water within it..

hey guys. unfortunetly i dont have any pics, there are some on my journal, but that was the day i got them, which was a month or so ago. I am very worried about them. Idiodically i let my friend who has awsdome dreads to them, but i took the rubber bands out after a day. The tips are normal hair for like an inch. Its crazy. Is this a time issue? Cuz i know people where the tip, is well, dreaded. I palm roll, rub, whatever, do everything it says on dreadheadhq.com. Any tips? Anyone live near the boston area?

are elastics necessary when you do dreads?
I know they can help keep unruley hairs controlled or whatever but i was just wondering...
opinions anyone?

Hi I'm Meggan, 17 from Northern Ireland.
Recently I have been a lot more interested in dreads. I'd love my own but couldn't have them in a permanent way because I'm about to complete my last year at school and am currently looking for a new job, and because I'm a student the most likely type of job I can get is one in a supermarket. And of course they are intent on ridding themselves of any kind of individuality in the workforce. Even without these complications I have to admit I'd still be a little scared to get them done, I don't like the idea of having to cut my hair very short when I can no longer keep them, I love my long hair!
Here are some temp dreads I gave myself todayCollapse )
