Removing dreads

So I have decided on removing my 10 month old dreads, not cutting them off, but slowly undreading them .
Anyone have any experiences with that?
How long did it take?
what methods you used?
does anyone know of any shampoos conditioners, herbal oils that would be helpful in such a process?
how did the results look?
and how long had you had your dreads?
Cheesy one liners!

T-shirt Updates:

I realized I won't be home during Christmas break. So I don't want to have 100 shirts sent to my friend's house because that doesn't seem like something you should do when you're a guest. Because of that, I won't ask for paypal yet because I don't want to hold your money for weeks when I haven't made the order. Forgive me for taking so long. College and real life gets hectic.

so i do have a question for the community hopefully you can help me with this.

I don't use wax in my dreads, cause i'm gonna go it the natural way.

But every day when i wake up, the left and right sides of my dreads are smushed together and i have to pull them apart, and then twist every single one of them seperatly.

Is there an easier way to go about this?

Like maybe i should use wax or something? cause i still have a little thing of Knotty Boy wax

i haven't posted any pics in a while, and my hair is mad longer than it was last time i posted. these are pictures my friend and i took during our photography adventures.

oh wow.

i haven't had a dread dream in a looooong time...

i i almost woke up crying from this one,

it was really long and involved, and most of it's fading fast, but the important part is that there were two "friends of mine" who were stayaing at my house, and while i was asleep they decided that i would look better without dreads, and cut off a few here and there.

i was seriously going apeshit and like breaking stuff, and trying to make these motherfuckers feel as bad as possible... but of course, it didtn' really matter because half of my dreads had been chopped off.....

I'd never had a dream before where i woke up and grabbed my dreads and was ecstatic that they were there...

people always talk about them but they REALLY do suck to have.

i think i'm still shaking.

I was a bit bored with my hair today, so I decided to try something new. So I went a bit rockabilly and put up my bangs. My dreads I have put in 2 ponytails behind the back wich looks like one big (stretched) ponytail. Hope you all like it too.

as requested

This one's for anyone who's been asking about methods for dread removal. I've mentioned before that with my first set (they only lasted 4 months) I removed them by "washing" my hair with baby oil in an extremely hot shower, followed by lots of combing (it takes multiple days) with the same metal comb I used to start them off. Get some friends to help you whenever possible. I know in my case I had a bit of a beavertail effect going on in the back and it took 3 of us working together to comb that out. It's hard and time consuming, but if you don't want to cut off your locks this is a great way to do it. I ended up trimming about 2 inches off the ends at the most. What your hair will need after this form of removal is lots of TLC and patience, but it will return to normal quickly.

More pictures behind the cut including the before shots, and photos showing the difference in my hair from one month after removal to a few months.

I am finally happy with my dreads. They will be 8 months old in three days and I am happy, oh so happy...

Thank you all.

I don't care about my roots, or my tips, or them stickin' up funny no more, I'm just happy with my hair the way it is.

A woman on the bus told me I had the most beautiful hair she'd ever seen. Made me so happy.
