red dreads, adventures in dye [18 Jan 2006|04:46pm]
Sorry no pictures kittens... the maternal-being is being very stingy with her new digi-cam.

I love having red hair. Not just slightly red, or natural red... but RED! The reddest red possible. (i also enjoy faded-sunset red dreads and orange sun-faded red dreads, but not quite as much)

I thought it might be a good idea to share my experiences with red hair dye (the good, the bad)... ::note:: all these are non-amonia lesser-chemical dyes.

woo!Collapse )

[ mood | lonely ]

hey everyone! I don't know if introductions are customary in this community, but I stumbled across it a couple days ago and joined and thought I'd say hi (and that you are all so lovely).
I don't have my dreads yet, but I plan to start them after my birthday, which is in a couple weeks. I've been researching the best methods and products and I guess all I can do now is hope that they turn out alright and I'm able to maintain them. I have super straight hair, which I'm planning on bleaching first and then backcombing, maybe after a little salt water spritz?
Anyway, here a couple (goofy) pictures of me, and if anyone has any special advice, of course i would love it.

not very interesting. yet.Collapse )

The coolest dread-hat-headband thing ever. [18 Jan 2006|10:44pm]
So I came across this pattern the other day:

(scroll down to the fourth post)

It is the best thing ever, since my hats don't fit over my hair anymore. Well I made it to keep my head warm when I go outside, but I've been wearing it indoors to keep my hair back all day today.
