long absence, i know, and i apologize.

my dreads are gone.

my dad was killed in a car accident, and i combed/cut them out for his funeral. he hated them anyway.

someday in the future, i might restart them. i don't know.

take care, everyone.

Does anyone know of a good place to get glass beads for dreadlocks online?? All the craft stores and hippie/hemp places in my area don't sell them, and I'm very very sad. I already know of dreadheadhq.com and knottyboy, and they're kinda out of my range. I've looked around ebay a little bit, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any little secret websites...

Thanks!

My name is Whitney, I've been reading this community for ever and just got my finished my dreads on Friday :-)

Edited to add some details...I spread this process out over three days, my friend helped me section, and backcombed the roots, which I then kind of combed out so I could twist and rip. My boyfriend worked on a few obsessively for a few hours, which was really entertaining. He's never even touched dreads before and he came at mine with a lot of energy. It was nice for someone I love to play with my hair like that :-) They're still a big mess and really frizzy, and I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first, but now I think they feel good, and natural. I'm enjoying the whole process a lot...I think I'm gonna give them a salt water or lemon juice spritz and a wash tomorrow. Any suggestions on proportion of salt or lemon juice (or both) to water? There was nothing too specific in the memories.
