My oh my...

Well, I think it's about time for an update...I've been living and working on an island for the past three months so I've been a little out of touch with everything, but I've been wanting to post an update for a while...The recent photos, except the last one, are from right after washing. They usually look better but washing them makes them look a little limp for a while...Hopefully Flickr allows hotlinking!

    Can I Live - Jay-Z

Allo, I'm new.

I just got my dreads nine days ago, after wanting to do it for about a year and a half. I would have done it sooner, but I wasn't sure how accepting they'd be of it at my job- yay for grocery store bakeries!- but they finally gave me a go ahead and here I am. I think this is going to be a badly needed lesson in patience for me- I'm gonna be outlandishly happy once they lock up.

And yeah, I just kind of want to show 'em off. :)

Um, I hope you guys are all getting excited about my first dread-day on the fifth, because I certainly am. I have a huge ass timeline all ready. It's really amazing to look at my head from the beginning to fourth month and then at the present, so be prepared to fall out of your chair or swallow your tounge or something.

Ok, I looked through the memories and couldn't really find anything that would answer my question.

I gave myself like really fast rip-and-twist dreads the other day. I made a post about it. They were supposed to only be temporary but a few days later, even after my shower I find that they still resemble dreads. i'm wondering if i keep palm-rolling and (maybe) put some wax in that they'll dread up to look like the ones you all have?
I'm hoping all I really did was give them a head-start and from here on they'll naturally get tighter etc.

I have pictures to show how they look at the moment, Collapse )

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I don't know ANYONE with dreads or anything like it.
