My posts come in groups don't they?

Anyway, here's some pics of my newly rounded tips among their looser cohorts and some exciting loops.

I love looking at loopy dreads, so if you have a fave loopy pic or few go ahead and post it in here! I wanna see 'em!

Another question and a triumph

I know I just posted last night, but whenever I post I always forget half of the things I wanted to post about.

Consequently I tuned out half of my philosophy lecture because my mind kept wandering to dreadlocks. That cannot be healthy.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has used clove oil for their hair? I was thinking about putting a bit into my deep cleaning mixture, which I'll hopefully do tonight, since I have some on hand and i like how it smells. I can't imagine it would do any harm to the hair, but if it has any great benefits that'd be awesome.

And also, a dreadie triumph of epic proportions! Last week I actually got my mom to admit that she likes my dreadlocks!!!
She says she likes them better now that they're not as wild. She even offered to count them for me, haha.
So, at least I've won over ONE family member.

Picture post! Three weeks later!

All the picture sharing has me in the mood to share my progress!

After I finally stopped with the wax and rubber bands and just stuck with occasional back-combing of the ends, salt water spray, and palm rolling my dreadies are tightening up nicely!

I had a big hunk in the back that had a rubber band disaster, so I decided to jsut frizz it and leave it be. A lot of it sems to be incorporating well, and so do my bangs! Haha, I have to pick out my bangs occasionally.

Aaaaaaaanyway, peektures!

 I need your opinion...

My boyfriend and I are planning on getting married 2 years (I know its forever) from this month.  As of now I don't have dreads, but I want them soo bad.  My boyfriend wants me to wait so we can have a "classic" wedding with me in a big poofy dress, the whole nine yards.  Basically he doesn't want to look back on our wedding pictures in 50 years and see me with dreadlocks.  I can understand what he's saying & I feel the same way to a degree, but I can't make up my mind.  What do you guys think?  Have any of you ladies gotten married with dreads?

Clorox Buys Out Burt's Bees?

I was just curious about what you guys think of Clorox buying out Burt's Bees? I know quite a few of you use their stuff. Just this last weekend I bought some of their shampoo to try out on my dreads. I like it, but I still prefer Dr. Bronners because it lathers better and feels cleaner.

Anyway, I don't know how I feel about it really, but I was just curious to your thoughts.

And just so this post isn't text only.

Almost 9 months. ^_^

ok, so this isn't a post to the tune of "omg guys will i look good with dreads?"

the question is with the back of my head.
for awhile now, i've been getting the back cut shorter then the rest of my head, and (when i feel like actually doing it and not throwing a hat on it) spiking it out. i know the rest of my head is long enough to start the dreading process, but the back as you can sort of see from the picture, is about 2-3 inches long.
now, i'm ITCHING for re-dreadiness, i know i can make the top and sides look nice, but i'm wondering what to do with the back... just let it grow out and dread it in another inch or so? i'm pretty sure i don't want to keep on shaving it, i did that before and i ended up hating it because i just don't like that look on me at all.
i guess what my question really is, is with starting dreads at different times like that, will it look awkward once they are all dreaded? as anyone in the community done anything similar to this?
thanks for any suggestions. it's appreciated. :)
