I perused the memories and didn't find an answer for my question, apologies if I just missed it.
I've been considering dreads for a while. Recently, however, I chopped most of my hair off and it's pixie-cut short. My question is, how long in your experience does hair have to be to start dreads? What are my options? If I were to get extensions, could I dread those? (I read a little bit about synthetic dreads, but I didn't see an example where the person had really short hair to begin with.)
I wouldn't be against waiting until my hair grows out, I was just wondering if there was anything I could do sooner rather than later, partially because I've only recently decided that I definitely want to do it, and partially because I'm not looking forward to those awkward stages that occur when growing hair out.
I know I am late for the Dreads and Snow theme, please forgive me! In my town, the clear sunny days of winter are usually the coldest days of all. Unfortunately, they are also the best days to go and take photos. This day here it was about -15*C which is 5*F, I think?
Brrr, tomorrow is supposed to be -49*C around these parts, which translates to -56*F or something? Winter is harsh, so I am escaping to the UK in ten days! I'd be totally cool meeting up with some dread friends if anyone is interested!
So my shitty dye job from the other day; I fixed it, mostly. The majority of my head is the original colour I wanted. To get it exactly as I had wanted I would have had to rebleach, which I didnt want to do, so I have some crazy colouration going on, but its better then the platinum blonde look. My skin tone hated that.
