i watched 10,000 bc last night and i felt like i was in friekin heaven. at times i was thinking i was doing a review just to post it for the group!
so every single person in that movie was gorgeous. i'm really into tribal looks/customs/traditions ect, so i was feasting my eyes on that screen. the plot was a little lame.. some of it seemed too much like jurassic park and 300, but i could put that movie on mute and be in heaven.
btw, the main guy and girl are the hottest people i think i've ever seen. totally recommend seeing it
SO! My friend backcombed my hair for me last night, and the new dreadies are EVERYWHERE. My hair was to my butt...of them still stick out a little bit, and they are REALLY fuzzy, I've got some pictures of the process that I'll slap up.
Throwingships is coming over tonight for me to start up her dreads, or at least give her the Start to her dreads. Hopefully I'll be able to do her whole head but time will tell! My dreads are now about two and a half months old, so here are some pictures....
One more with squiggly dreads under the cut. ( Collapse )
A friend showed me a really great website a few weeks ago that sells the most amazing scarves. It's actually a website for Jewish head coverings but I got to thinking that they would make awesome head wraps. I ordered a couple and LOVE them. The tie-dye one is my favorite and I'm definitely ordering more. The company office is located out of NY, but the scarves actually get mailed to you from Jerusalem.
They have great prices and their shipping charge is very reasonable, especially considering that they're being mailed internationally.
Just a couple pictures I took today to track my progress. I try to get a few shots of my hair each month so I can have a nice timeline and see how things are coming along. I was too lazy to take my hair down, though, so here is a nice look at how I often wear it. I like how it sticks up all crazy if I fluff it up a bit. Good stuff.
Ok, I have been a member of this community for quiet a while now but i never post, I like to read everyone elses posts and look at all your pretty hair a lot though. Anyway this is my attempt at a time line.
So... recently broke it off with the boyfriend... and I've never really had trouble dating.. I'm just kind of wondering if anybody has had a harder time dating since having dreads? My friends keep telling me to stop worrying because I "can make any hair style look cute" but I'm just kind of worrying about it. I'm also worried because the now ex was really supportive about it all and loved my dreads... and I'm not sure I'll be getting that with the next one, you know? I'm kind of nervous because a lot of people on here talk about non-supportive significant others. Maybe I'm just looking for supportive words lol. Or you know, any cute stories would help :)
Boyface and I are buying groceries tonight. We're in line at the register paying and some kid who looks about 14 but apparently works there tries to get my attention to ask me if his hair is long enough to make dreads in and he calls me ma'am. I'm 20. My goodness. Im no ma'am. The kid was sporting that terrible looking skater boy mop of hair and was surprised when I took one glance and was like "yea, your hair is plenty long enough". He tried to keep talking to me and ask me another question, but Boyface was trying to shuffle me out of the store so we could go cook dinner.
I love when people ask me about my hair.
I had some girl right as I was walking out of a bathroom stall on Thursday on my college campus shriek "ohmygod amazing hair" at me. Again, I do enjoy when people inquire about my dreads, but I had barely just gotten my pants back on and was making a move towards the sink when she got uncomfortably close to me and started bombarding me with questions.
I got called ma'am by a small child and got harassed in the bathroom. People are crazy.
