pray for nothing

Color!

My girls are about 4 months old. I am neglectful but eh. The good, tight ones are chin length and the length you see are undeveloped dreads. Feeling a bit narcissistic during the end of graveyard shift I guess.

i love animals.

I love dreads, and I love my pets so you would think that I would have more pictures of both together, but I don't. I do have an abundance of pictures of my animals, though! Maybe I think pets are just cuter on their own?

Anyway, Collapse )

hope you enjoyed!

hello!

I just started my dreads on Saturday : ) It was... definitely a spur of the moment thing haha, I was looking at hair products in a store and just grabbed a box of rubber bands an' bought them and started dreading my hair the same afternoon. (I already like this decision better than my other sudden hair decisions, e.g. bleaching orangey streaks or cutting it super short...)

i like them sooner than i thought! What surprised me most, though, was my mom's reaction. she's the perfect picture of stereotypical asian mother: heavy accent, angry, obsessive about education and nutrition, thrifty, and conservative, hehehe. however when she first saw my hair all backcombed all she did was comment, "you're doing black people hair, aren't you." (another asian mother stereotype: slightly racist with everything) and when I nodded, went along her way. it was very strange, considering I have to argue with her about how I look every time I go out somewhere!

anyway, I just wanted to share that. no photos today but sometime soon! have a lovely day, everybody.

edit: and now she came in a minute ago and asked if she could touch my hair, and then left without a word after doing so... now I'm afraid this silence is due to some sort of evil mothery scheming ahaha.

another edit: okay, two teaser images for now :)

(no subject)

i haven't had internet at my house in about three weeks... i'm pretty miserable because all i have to do at home is school work, and netflix- oh the life of an insanely poor and unemployed college student.
ANYWAYS, on a more positive side, i'm at my mother's house for easter (happy easter, for those who celebrate, i don't but i sure like peanut butter eggs!) and i hopped on her computer to check up on LJ, since i'm an addict.
i LOVE the pet theme going on, i'm SO particpating once i can take pictures at my house and put them up! my cat's always in my hair. he thinks my dreads are his play things i swear.

a few weeks ago, yet another match was made over this lovely community. i met lukewarm through this group and we really hit it off. we decided to meet up over my spring break and she flew up here. what a way to wash away those winter blues. no better way then spending time with a FABULOUS fellow dready girl, working on each others hair and eating tofu.
we've got plans to meet up in houston this summer before i take off to yellowknife (YEA, gypsy_88!) for three months.
this community rules, in more ways then one!
and what's a post without a few pictures.... there would be more but ya know, mom's computer...

Celebration of the Vernal Equinox

Spring is finally here! In thought at least....
On Thursday my boyfriend (John) and my bestest friend (Louie) went to the park with her Siberian Huskey (Niki) who is the cutest and most energetic dog ever. We went for a walk, exlored a little rock area, and hung out under a bridge.

Good times were had by all.
