washing

Just wondering, does anyone here get their dreads wet often but doesn't always use shampoo?

I really love the feel of water on my scalp but don't want to overwash them, and shampoo makes them so fluffy. Does anyone have experience that just using water also makes them fluffy? I haven't tried yet.

And how many of you think that washing them often actually helps them lock up to any great extent?

Sorry if this specifically is in the memories.. I didn't recall seeing anything about shampoo vs. just water ? Obviously they won't smell nearly as nice with just water ;)

Assistance!

Just wondering how many of you did your own sectioning and backcombing, or if you enlisted the help of minions for all or part of the process?
I'm kinda all set, but anxious I'll balls it up myself, or whether it'd be better to get some assistance! What d'yall reckon ?

(no subject)

So... I'm thinking about bleaching the tips of my dreadlocks (perhaps eventually color them red or green). But I'm not sure if I have the right length... Here's a picture

The green is yarn extensions... easily done if anyone has questions! :D
