connor oberst

hello!

my dreads are 4 months old.
i have done some work on them but mostly am doing next to nothing and just seeing what goes on. parts of them are knotting 100% in their own and it's pretty awesome.
i wash them with bronners, knotty boy soap bar and salt water.
:)

i'm at the houston airport. and this is the first time i have had internet for the last three weeks.

of coarse this would be the first thing i would do.

hope everyone is good! :-D

no really look, airplane!!!

first post

Hi guys! I'm in a really good mood right now. I was so sure that my parents wouldn't approve of dreadlocks because they're so judgmental about some things. Apparently my mom loves dreadlocks and she's all for it if I want to do a couple dreads on the side until my hair gets longer. And that she'd be completely fine if I want to dread my whole head once it gets a little longer. I'm really excited. I've read through the memories so many times before now and I'm doing so again but I'm just wondering what your guys' opinions are about dreads suiting me? I figure y'all will be a little biased but I trust you guys would say so if somebody wouldn't look that great with them.
:D

I'm the girl btw.Collapse )

Silly humans

The photo below is fetched from the norwegian librarian magazine, and the caption says: "south-african woman with characteristic dreads" Uh yeah.

On another note. There's one little faulty thing with the layout. You actually can't see who posted which posts. I was looking for some inspiration, and remembered keleh posting some amazing timeline that silly me didn't add to my own memories (found it eventually). Name of poster on front page would make stuff like that alot easier.

I think my favourite feeling is when a problematic lock suddently starts to set. When it's been nothing but a lump of fluffy lint for a long time, and then suddenly you feel something happening inside, and it, sometimes in a couple of weeks turns into a real dread.

Feels awsome :)

getting sick of me yet?

I feel like I've been posting here a lot lately, but I get bored during the summer and it gives me something to do.
This weekend my sister and I went to north Florida for our friend Paige's high school graduation and the two of them are picture whores, so I have a plethora of pictures.

Also, are there any solid plans for the Orlando Gudu get-together? Let's make this happen!

(no subject)

so in the spirit of new beginnings...
