There's another white guy I see with dreads from time to time on my campus. I always see him walking to one particular class when I'm sitting on the benches in the first floor eating lunch. Well, the other day, he happened to walk by me close enough for me to snag him. I say, "Hey! How old are yours?" It's pretty funny that he knew exactly what I was talking about. He's like, "Nine months," which is exactly the same age as mine. His look pretty nice, so I ask him about them. He tells me he doesn't wax. Good, I say. He asked me how I take care of mine, and I say that I pretty much don't. I crochet once in a while, but that I used to do more when they were younger. And that's pretty much it. He asks me how often I wash and I say about twice a week and he couldn't believe it. He said, "Oh! I haven't washed mine for two weeks now." Different strokes. I'm not going to judge.
So anyway, he had to get to class, but this is our last week and it's finals time. I'm hoping I'll get to see him again, because I want to direct him here. He seems like he had a lot of questions and wanted to ask a fellow dreadhead if he was doing stuff correctly. I would also offer to be clean-up-dreads buddies. I haven't crocheted my loose hairs in for like 3 months. Once I quit my job, fuggadabudit.
