forgive me for blowing up this community; my last post was about 6 weeks ago and it was a picture heavy time line. this time, however i got to take some shots of my hair specifically so hopefully it will have some better weight on their progress. i have lots o loose hair, but i don't really mind. right before my hair started its first major changes, their was also tons of loose hair, so i'm excited about the new progess that is bound to happen.
i hear from people all the time that i should put wax in it or get it clean up to take care of that loose hair but whateva. thanks for nothin advice buddy! evidence under tha cutttt
last night, i helped gorthok to do a deep-clean of his four year old dreads. they'd been started with wax (not by me!), maintained with wax before we met, poorly rinsed of shampoo & bleach over the years, & he never took the time to clean out all of that old gunk. he's been wanting me to maintenance & re-dye them for him, & i told him i wouldn't do the work unless we could go all out.
the plan: 1. deep cleaning 2. protein conditioning 3. root bleaching (8-9" of roots) 4. full maintenance 5. SFX dye job
in exchange for the 7-8 hours of labor this would all take, he offered to wash, wax, & fully detail my car. (the only appropriate place for wax is your car or your surfboard, not your dreads.) i love the barter system. :D
we completed stage 1 tonight. be warned, these pics are gross.
I've been growing my hair for about 2 years now, and its a bout 3-4 inches long and now im starting to think about gettin my dreads put in. The snag is i live in a shitty little town called falkirk which is basically hillbilly central Scotland. None of the hairdressers/salons here even know where i could possibly get it done and anywhere iv asked have either given me the "are you crazy" kind of look or told me to go to london. as i am not planning on travelling to london just to get dreaded when iv seen people around with them i started asking people with dreads in the street. One guy told me a place called links locks in glasgow, Which i couldnt find even when i googled it. And iv heard there is a woman(though im sure theirs more than 1) who stays in scotland who'll come to your home and dread your hair for a reasonable price. id do it myself but i wouldnt know how to start doing the back of my head. and i wouldnt entrust the job to a friend because none of my friends have the patience and id end up with it half arsed
im basically desperate. im sick of wearing my rasta tam over the top of my sweaty head i want my dreads before summer comes back in and it becomes unbearable again.
anyone from scotland with any info please Add me on msn Archayne@hotmail.co.uk i'd be glad to hear any information you have about possible phone numbers or locations of a good loctician in scotland
hello pretty heads, i hope you all enjoyed your holidays, whatever you did. and i wish you all a positive and happy new year. heres some pictures i took last night, i was feeling very artsy. a few years ago i began to overcome anorexia, lately i had been feeling down about my curves and missing my bones, but my after spending a night with my boy i began to feel beautiful in my own skin, and thought i'd try to capture that through some crappy photography. i feel i have changed a lot since then, and like the person i have become. i feel like everything, including my dreads, has made me into the person i want to be. i would post these to naughty_knotty but i am still awaiting my membership to be confirmed. not work safe. White Zombie is one of my favorite bands. I was watching this video online today and it just shows off how nice Jay's (the guitarist) dreads are. Unlike most of the videos of the band playing it doesn't just focus on Sean (the bassist girl.) Not that I don't like those videos either ;p I just felt like posting it for you people who might also like the band and also because I think he's got some nice locks (I like them more than Rob's ^.^)
So I've been going crazy not being able to do stuff with my hair like dye it (because it will need to be not chemically processed to donate) or straighten it. All of a sudden I got a great idea. My hair is already 2 toned where the dyed stuff is growing out, so I got some 40 vol and some pretty hair colors and went to work..
