1 week old babies

I'm sorry for the crappy webcam pics but my boyfriend lost our digital camera.
Since it's really his camera I am leaving it up to him to find it ;p
But anyways, here they are, all messy and fresh from waking up at 2 in the afternoon.

deep cleaning

I just did a version of the deep cleaning mentioned in the archives. I didn't have tea tree oil (used lavender oil instead), and no lemon juice, but still... gah. I keep my hair pretty clean but was grossed out at all the dark water running from my head. I just did it in the shower and let the baking soda / salt / lavender oil / warm water soak for a few minutes and then just rinsed it out with apple cider vinegar.

From now on I'm doing it regularly. My head feels so light and clean now :)

can't believe it's 2009 already

hope you all woke up easier than my husband and i... our upstairs neighbor left the bathtub running and we started our New Years with water flooding into our front hallway from every crack in the ceiling. we broke out the camera to start cataloguing our damaged items, and as you can see, it ended up being a good excuse to snap some photos of my dreads.

short hair

Once upon a time Lish(d) said that I had permission to post pictures of my (not dreaded) short hair anytime. Im taking advantage of that permission right now.

Its been a year and a few months since I shaved my dreads off, and Ive kept my hair short. The hairstyle has changed and evolved and grown, and Ive ended up very, very pleased with the result.

Here's a picture of me from a recent trip to northern Michigan. It was beautiful there, despite my general dislike of the snow. It also makes for very pretty backdrops.

I hope you all had a very happy and healthy new years. I stop in here every now and again to see how everyone's doing. 2008 was a year full of complete change for me, which is good in a lot of ways, but it has also been scary and different. Things have settled now, and I am thankful for every experience.
