So a lot of things have been going on with me. I'm working on finishing up my B.A. and that includes working towards a certificate to teach ESL; because I have to do practicums for this certification I decided it was probably smart to get my dreads to a more "normal" color than blue. So I dyed them a dark redish brown and I am happy with how they turned out. I also recently broke up with my boyfriend of over 4 1/2 years whose camera I sometimes got to use so right now I just have some crappy webcam pics. But you can see how they are looking.

Fun photos from Alaska!

It is 37 above in Fairbanks Alaska and I LOVE it. I'm about to go take a nice long coatless walk. Just wanted to share some of the fun!

Also, my friend made me this really sweet scarf I can use in many ways.

Last but not least, my favorite dread. It one day just decided to split.

Hello Again.

My new phone is awesome for almost everything... except taking pictures.
Anyway, here I be... in all my blurry, pixellated glory.

I think it's safe to say I've reached about 17 years of dreadlockedness, since I think I've been saying 16 years for about a year now.

some support needed !

i miss my dreadies SO FREAKIN' MUCH !!!((((((
just wanna to tell you.....
i had them for almost 2 years, they weew changing every day... i miss this. your natural hair will never be so wild and unpredictable.
i know now its a brand new time in my life, im becoming older, and thats actually me who really wanted to back the freedom to my head, when you can feel the wind by you every single hair.... bla-bla-bla
now im pretty happy with my style and im not sure i could make the dreads now again, but i still miss them very much(

I've been meaning to post these but it's been one of those insanely busy weeks!
Anyway -
I had a show on saturday,
below is a photo of me with my work.
I also went out with some friends,
one of which has a beautiful head of dreads,
which I'm also posting.

Hope you all are having a good new year so far!

My first set

Well I just got my dreads yesterday, they're all poofy and crazy, but I love them, I can't wait to see how they change over time.. I'm also new to the community and wanted to introduce myself, so hey everyone!

sorry for the image quality, my webcam sucks :p

Since lishd dared me to prove that those big monsters in the front are flexible.....and I've never been known to pass up a dare, here ya go.

They're each about 3+ inches in diameter at the base. They originally started out as 5 dreads each on either side but ate each other up from the root down and combined into one big fatty on each side.

I started my dreads Sept. 3, 2006, for those that are wondering.

"My horns"

But wait......there's more. They are much more flexible than that!

So this week Jocelyn (jocelyninthesky ), came up to the Orlando area and we finally got to hang out! It was so much fun, we chilled and went to the Dandelion Communitea Cafe and had amazing tea and conversation. =)

I still say we should do an Orlando/Central Florida/surrounding area dreadie meetup. It would be so much fun to meet more GUDUers!
