i noted, "hi, spotlight. thanks for this opportunity! here are the five posts, in order of preference (most to least). i'm not sure the photos will be available in high res, but i have no problem if you want to cut the pics - these posts are all centered on the emotional attachment of & education about dreads, less so the images."

i'll be sure to let you guys know right away if/when i hear back.

one for the henna people [05 Apr 2009|05:34pm]
[ mood | tired ]

okay so i dyed over my hair with henna a few months back - i think my enteries about this are in the memories.
my question is for people with experience of henna. can you dye over henna, say using an ash brown dye?

i've only hennaed my hair twice. the last time i did it was december, so i've got a good 4 months of roots/old henna. i want to go back to my natural colour which is a dirty blonde sort of colour. i knew i'd do this just after i hennaed the first time! i like change it seems.

anyone got any experience with this? i've looked on henna for hair website and not found much, and a few random forums say its okay to do as long as theres no bleach involved.

pic for reference:

you can see my roots here, and this is the true colour of the henna. its not very bright anymore. idealy i'd like to go back to my natural colour then leave my poor colour abused locks alone. i would wait for it to grow out, but i think it looks a tad silly on me, and i don't really want to keep hennaing for the rest of my life!

i thought maybe if i used a light/ash tone of brown or dark blonde, then maybe use a blonde henna over the top. i know blonde henna isn't actually going to make my hair blonde, but i know it picks up natural highlights and such.

any help would be great :) xxx
