fraggles

bangs and extensions and knots!

My hair has stayed sectioned wonderfully so far! It was nappy and tangled easily before, so I was slightly worried I'd end up with mats. The backcombed dreads seemed to have come unraveled, so I r+t'ed the ends of most of them the other night and I love how they came out (this isn't considered re-backcombing, right? If anything, I reinforced any of the knots and can't see how I would have undone any).

Now, a question. I've got supershort bangs and I consider them somewhat of a trademark for me... plus they're much easier to maintain than sideswept or anything. I've never had no bangs, and I wonder what I'd look like sometimes. However, I really.... really.... don't want to go through the awkward stage of growing them out long enough to dread, OR have short dread nubs in the meantime.

Is there a way to crochet bangs into young, surrounding dreads without hindering their progress? What about dreading them and attaching extensions?

2 year dreadiversary coming up...

Its been a real long time since I've posted, I just haven't gotten around to it. But I check the community pretty much daily, I don't know what the hold up was. Anyway, one of the homeless guys that hangs out by my work has dreads and always says something to me when I walk by. Today it was, "Hey you a rasta girl?" and then later, "How'd your hair get so nappy?" But he says it with a smile and he's a white guy, so I just snark him and he laughs.
