My mother is way too sweet!!!

This is a post just to say how happy I am with my mom :-)

I have had dreadlocks off and on for almost 10 years.....  I never thought my parents liked my hair in dreadlocks, always saying "it was so pretty  before" and when i'd cut them out they'd say 'i like it so much better now then when you had it in dreadlocks'. My mother's pet name for dreadlocks has always been "the Dreadfuls" and she has called mine that for years now.  I think my mom is now resigned to them, and realizes that because I like them and it's my hair,  it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks about them.  She says I march to the beat of my own drum, which is a nice way to say im a bit eccentric, im sure :-)

Anyways, I've been taking sewing lessons from her, and yesterday I arrived at her house to find out that she's been making gorgeous Dreadbands for me to wear with my dreads....    She made me one and my daughter one, and I just had to post pictures because Im so happy about it, and proud of how she's using her talent for a hairstyle she might not always have aggreed with.

A sad, strange entry. :(

At 6 AM my former room mate Dan called me and told me that my cat Baron had been attacked by a stray dog. Baron's pelvis was broken as were his back legs. He was found in his own blood. The dog had been seen wandering the neighborhood days before.

Baron was having trouble breathing. We took him to the emergency vet at around 6:30, and after being examined the vet determined that he should be humanely euthanized.

We got to spend a few moments with him in the "comfy" room and we kissed him on the head and said our goodbyes. He had a tourniquet on his leg with a big heart on it. Under there was the IV. He was put to sleep in Dan and I's arms at around 7 AM this morning.

Needless to say, I am completely destroyed from this.
All I have left are little paw prints on a card and a baggie of his fur.
