kiki - laying in the grass

all hail the conquering hero!

Oh man, I am also so freakin' slow to update! Don't even ask me why, I can't explain it.

As some of you may recall, I had some serious issues with my locks falling out because I switched to a shampoo with conditioner in it (post here). Last time, I updated y'all that by switching to CVS' T-gel shampoo, the unraveling had stopped (post here) and my locks were starting to mature again.

Well! Last month, I finally had my appointment with the almighty lishd and she fixed me right up! re-backcombed the dreads with ridiculously long tails, re-backcombed all of the ones that had fallen out, and sectioned and dreaded as much of my loose hair as possible (there's a small section at the nape of my neck that is still loose hair, stupid not-growing-fast-enough-and-ridiculously-thick-and-smooth hair!). After she was done, I looked like this:

Tons more photos under the cut!

Woo! They're doing so much better! They look better and they FEEL incredible. Some of them are really knotting up well! I can't wait to see how they develop in another couple of months. :) It's so nice to be excited about them again, and not just feeling grumpy about their lack-o-progress. HUZZAH!

Hope you're all having a lovely Friday!

(p.s. Lish, I'll make a shampoo post later today that you can add to the memories)

(no subject)

i don't know what to do! lately, i've been getting strong urges to comb my hair out. i have a lot of reasons for wanting to do this, but the only thing that's stopping me is remembering how much i hated my brushable hair. mind you, i was young and way more vain back then ;)

has anyone else felt this way? what did you decide to do - keep them or cut them? and how did you feel about your decision? i know everyone is different and just because someone felt a certain way wont mean i'll feel the same. i'm just looking for some words of wisdom and what not. mainly from people who have/had older (2+ year old) dreads, but any input is definitely welcome!
