At three months and counting. Adding extensions on dreads so young was such a bad idea...even though I'm surprised they've held up this long, I realize now how terrible of a mistake I made...now they appear quite odd in contrast to my real dreads. Debating on brushing all of them out then starting again in a few months.
Hello, I just recently joined this community, you all seem really helpful and in love with your dreadies :). I guess as far as questions go, I've had mine for about six months now, they are getting nice and hard and getting tighter and tighter. But I'm not sure about what to do about a few things...
First of all my hair was down past my shoulders when I got dreads, now my hair is up by my ears, is it normal for your dreadies to get that short when you are first starting out?
Also, I'd like to know what I should do with new growth? I've been crocheting, I began with the backcomb method, and I was about 2-3 times a week.
I had four dreads that always hung down in my face and would never stay any place else for very long. I've been contemplating this decision for a while and I like it! So many of you have beautiful dreads with fringe and I thank you for the inspiration.
Also, this was right after a wash so there was extreme fuzziness happening. :)
Sorry for overwhelming everyone with so many pictures. I hope you enjoyed it, nonetheless! I honestly think I take too many pictures. But, I love capturing moments, and I love to share them. Maybe I should stop. I don't think I could ever stop. Can't stop, won't stop, can't stop the beat! ♪♫♪
and two of my ~2 month old dreads fell out. It's okay though I still have like 45 left, and I braided one of the two and left the other loose to dread or not. I made a video that is beyond rambly and sort of quiet because I wasn't making it to post but then I thought it might be helpful for other inquisitive people who have an experimental streak and want to know what will happen. They will fall right out. (oh, and I cuss in this video a little because I wasn't being zen about this.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCgOyfj74LM
