double exposure

band and hairpin-free updo tutorial!

Hello! I thought I'd share a step by step of how to put your dreads up without needing to use any scarves, ponytail bands or hairclips. I usually have my dreads like this at work as it keeps them out of the way and stays together for hours at a time, sometimes all day. I also find that it pulls less on the scalp than doing a bun with a ponytail band, but that's just my experience.

Still MIA

Oh dear. What month is it? What YEAR is it? I don't even.

Work is still crazy (I'm working this weekend, actually), but it looks like this is the last one where I'll have to engage in such madness, hurrah! But, that's not why I'm posting.

I'm posting because I had an appointment with the lovely lishd last Saturday, and OH MAN. YOU GUYS. My dreads look freakin' GORGEOUS! She spent a good five hours on my ridiculously hairy head, and I'm so thrilled with how they look right now, I can't even START to tell you.

I don't have time now to do a proper post (with plenty of before-and-after shots), but in the meantime here's a picture of me making a stupid face to go with my gorgeous dreads.

THANK YOU, lishd! :D

And to the rest of you, you're all lovely and wonderful, and I'm very much looking forward to rejoining our little online society. Cheers!
