A little story about my brothers dreads, and pics of my head

So, my brother got dreadlocks put on his head about 2 weeks ago.  He called me 5 times a day for the first week freaking out about his hair and had me send some pictures of mine.  Mine are approaching 2 1/2 years.  So here are the pictures I sent to him.  I thought I had pictures of his on my phone, but apparently I deleted them.  He lives in North Carolina and I live in upstate New York, so unfortunately I don't know what his look like in real life.  He keeps saying how she "tied them," and when I asked if there were bands or string in there he said no.  From his description it sounds like she used his hair to tie the ends and near the root.  I don't know what that means.  I am no expert, I just know what I know from this lovely community.  His also laid surprisingly flat for being babies, when I thought they should have had him looking like Sideshow Bob, especially since they are only about 3 inches long.  Who knows though....on to the pics!

If I can get some pictures of my brothers hair I will get them posted on here.  I told him to just leave them alone and directed him to GUDU.

Looking for Help

Greetings, GUDU!

I am in California for the next three months or so, taking care of my 91 yo mother who fell and broke her shoulder. While I'm here I was hoping to find someone who would be able to help me with my dreads, as they are really starting to look very loopy and messy and I'd like some help neatening them up. I'm in Southern California, in Fullerton (Orange County) and can drive a couple of hours to meet up with someone, if I need to, as long as I am back to be able to do the evening things for my Mom. I've been washing my hair with Dr Bronner's Tea Tree shampoo and as I've said I've got lots of loops and knots happening. I'm happy about that, but would like help neatening them up a bit. Any connections that anyone can pass to me would be greatly appreciated!

Namaste, GUDU!
