LONG overdue deep clean

I've been meaning to do a deep clean for ages but always put it off. The other day I finally got around to it and thought I'd share the results!

I used

1 tsp tea tree oil
2 tsp salt
2 tsp lemon juice
100g bicarbonate of soda

dissolved in a big pan of warm water. I sat with my hair in it for about 20minutes, swishing it around and my girlfriend took pictures of me looking silly. Then I sat with it in a towel for another half an hour and ate a sausage sandwich. It took FOREVER to rinse out! I kept alternating between the shower and the sink and then had a bath. Feel a bit guilty about all the water I used! But they do feel much better. Apart from the lint at the bottom that's washed out (told you it was overdue!) they feel fluffier and tighter and much cleaner.

As you can see, they're getting pretty long! I do really like how the length looks but it's starting to take a toll on my scalp and neck. I think I should probably cut them but I'm finding it difficult to bring myself to do it. Have any of you cut your dreads because of sore head or achey necks? How much have you cut off? I might try cutting the dreads on the top of my head first because that's where the roots feel under most pressure. I just don't want to loose my pretty blonde ends! So vain!
