This last thursday my dreads turned six weeks old. I'm not going to bother with pictures because my webcam is useless. I'll wait until I buy a digital camera.
I had a dream yesterday that was very real, I thought I woke up to find my hair all undone and unknotted except for the few dreads I leave around my face when I wear them up. I have to wear them up for work and it worries me that it'll be causing too much stress on them.
Yesterday I got caught in the rain and was absolutely drenched when I came home. It made my dreads feel nice. A little worry for me was that they were tangled twists or something but now under the kind of looser hair there's a core to each dread. And this little core, though the size varies on each one, at least it exists on each one, is a textured looking knot!!
It's very exciting. It's like they're just starting to form into real dreads, instead of what resembles a dread. I know dreads take about eighteen months to mature, but it's good to see some progression to keep me assured.
