just a little dread story, kind of.
for the past few days i have kind of had the urge to brugh my dreadies out. you know how somedays they can make you frusterated?(loose hairs and whatnot)
well today i was working at brighter daze, and this african american lady came in. and was like "so you are growing dreads. how old are they?" (etc etc). then she said "they are really coming along great for being so new!" and that just made my day. i thought they looked like shit. nice to have a compliment from her, since she had amazing dreads.
but, i learned something cool from her, which is the point of this post, not to brag about my dreads which really arent the best : ) she told me to never ever cut of my dreads if i wanted to get rid of them...she said in jamaica you would be shunned for cutting off your dreads. the whole point of having dreads for teh rastafarians is to NEVER cut them off(amoung other things). so she told me to tell all my dready friends if you get sick of your dreads, think of teh real reason you got them and why you love them...and what they mean to some people. and if you still want to get rid of them, brush them out, dont cut them.
thought i'd share : )
peace and good vibes
