i am 17 and go to a catholic school. i have had dreadlocks for the past 8 months, getting away with it by avoiding the authoratative figures at my school. I was in art class today and had a messenger come in with a note saying that i have a dress code violation with my 'bizzare' hairstyle. Now, i keep it clean and stuff, but when i explained this to the teacher that nabbed me, he said i have to get my hairstyle 'reviewed' by the head disciplinarian tommorow. I went to his office last year (at the end of the year) and i wrote him off by telling him that i was going to cut it. I need your feed back, do you have any advice for me? anyone have any experience with this stuff? (my dreads are 4 inches long)
The handbook statesBoys' hair must be clean and neatly trimmed and should not extend below the top of the collar; sideburns must not extend below the earlobe, nor long hair cover the ears. Hairstyles and jewlery judged eccentric by the administration will be forbidden.
