After nearly nine years of staring longingly at various dreadlocked individuals, I've made the decision to go for it. Unfortunately, this decision has come in the wake of a fresh haircut which has left most of my hair significantly shorter than it's ever been (and I do so love the haircut, but dreads have been a dream nine years in the making!) I've essentially resigned myself to waiting a few months before attempting to dread my hair.
The hair on the sides and in the back is about 2-3 inches long, and the center goes from about 3-4 inches in the back to about 6 in the front.
I do have one major question, though. It's sort of covered in the memories, but I was hoping for a little more detail (if that's okay! If not, please disregard this.)
I lead a really active lifestyle. I work out daily, bellydance, bike, and do a lot of hiking and whatnot. So, I sweat a lot. How exactly will I be able to deal with this? Is dreading my hair still going to be a possibility? That's the only thing I'm really worried about.
Thanks a lot, and I'm so happy to be here (and so inspired by all your beautiful locks!)
