I got sick of the blue/green shit that was my hair... the color made my dreads look awful! I wanted to dye them reddish-brown since I've wanted hair that color for over a year.
So I spent tonight bleaching it twice with my 50 volume developer... the first time I left it in for like an hour and a half, and it definitely needed bleaching again. That time I left it in for an hour. When I was washing it... one of my dreads was MELTING and all goopy and shit. I was so scared I started scrubbing all my dreads with soap to get the bleach out cause I thought they'd all melt off. I think it was only one that was doing that, and now it's so fried it feels like wire and it's all crispy. They aren't fully dry yet so I don't know how many are going to feel like that, but it's really gross.
Yeah, so don't do what I did. Heh. My dreads are white/minty-green now and I'm afraid to put dye in... not to mention that red probably won't turn out properly over top of this since it didn't bleach evenly so I'm thinking of opting for a dark brown or something. Does anyone know if dye is safe to put in when this has happened? I'm letting my hair have a break from any chemicals for the next few days, but I don't know if I should just leave it white... I'd rather not, but I don't want it to all fall out.
