I've had my dreads for... well... anywhere from 6 to 11 months, depending on which dread you're looking at. I started out with a few braids in January, and finished dreading all of my hair in May - no wax, just backcombing, a few braids, and lots of time. I love how when braids grow out, they just turn into dreads on their own. Anyways... I cut them chin-length a few months ago, and left some hair without dreads in the back above my neck. the interesting part of my dreads is that even though they are extremely solid and well-formed, there is still some normal hair mixed in, so that my locks blend in pretty naturally. it's neat. it's like my hair is meant to be dready.
