I don't have a lot of photos of my hair before I ditched the extensions, so this will have to do. This is me almost two years ago at a parade in which my roller derby league marched.
This is my hair last September, a few months after taking out my extensions. As much as I liked the extra length, it really bothered me that roughly half my hair was twice the length of the rest. I figured I'd cope with the shorter hair and let it grow out.
This is my hair in March, and while it's hard to see, my hair grew quite a bit. I love how spiky it could be at this length, but I still missed being able to tie my hair in knots.
Since I couldn't do much about the length, I opted to play with a bit of color. I bleached stripes into my hair and dyed those dreads hot pink, which is one of my derby team's colors. I still have this in, even though I haven't re-dyed. I wash my hair all the time, so I have no CLUE how a dab of SFX has lasted so long!
Just for fun, here's a portrait of me by Paigey, a fabulous artist who really rocked my dreads.
This is from a recent photo shoot done for my league's site, and I'll end here. Still short, but very neat, tight, and even, length-wise. I've LOVED my dreads since I got them - this was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
