there were 3 years of bleach,
and then 2 years chemical free.
and now? in honor of their
5 year anniversary...
we've gone back to blonde,
and i get to feel like me. ♥
aaaand.. a bit of a note on dreadlocks and bleaching:
sometimes, it's best to leave things to a pro.
however? if you love yer locks and want them blonde and don't want to suffer issues from it...
let a PROFESSIONAL play with the chemicals. the stuff they have in salons is of a different caliber, and a good hair stylist can get it on quickly, get you under a dryer, and have you whatever color you want in a fraction of the time it takes to do it at home.
yes, it can be very expensive, but it can also prevent things like breakage.
hell, for the first time after a bleach, my locks show absolutely NO physical signs of damage.
...i still gave them an extra wash when we came home, just because i wanted to make SURE all the bleach was out. regardless of whether you have things done at a salon, or if you do it at home...
remember to do that, ok?
even the OTC dyes can have lots of ammonia in them!
wash, rinse, and definitely, ALWAYS, give another good wash and rinse.
